Ralph Yarro Informs and Motivates Students at eBusiness Day

Ralph Yarro, President and CEO of ThinkAtomic, Inc. and founder of the CP80 foundation, addressed students on March 16, 2007, as the keynote speaker for eBusiness Day sponsored by the Rollins Center for eBusiness. Students learned their role in combating the risks associated with technology, such as Internet pornography, and also how to leverage technology for the betterment of society.

Students Excel in Omniture Web Analytics Competition

A record number of teams participated in the the Winter 2007 Omniture Web Analytics Competition hosted by the Rollins Center for eBusiness. The student-led teams presented to professional web analysts from Omniture who awarded the team Webtacular first place for its in-depth analysis and insightful recommendations of the Costume Craze web site.

Advisory Board Member, Richard R. Nelson, Honored as a Top Driver of Business in Utah

Richard R. Nelson, a member of the Rollins Center for eBusiness' advisory board, was recently named one of "Utah’s Top 25 People Best Driving Business in 2006" by the readers of Connect Magazine. The readers recognized his leadership abilities as the President and CEO of the Utah Technology Council.

Kevin Johnson, a Microsoft top executive, spoke at the Economic Self-Reliance Conference held 9 & 10 March 2006, at Brigham Young University. The conference is sponsored by the Center for Economic Self-Reliance at the Marriott School of Management and the Kevin and Debra Rollins Center for eBusiness.

Governor Huntsman Addresses Students at eBusiness Day

Utah Governor, Jon Huntsman Jr., addressed faculty, students, center advisory board members, and guests at the Rollins Center's second eBusiness Day of the semester on 31 March. Huntsman discussed the economic situation in Utah and what he sees happening to Utah's businesses in the future.

Stephen R. Covey Speaks at ESR Conference

Dr. Stephen R. Covey, internationally acclaimed leadership authority and author was the keynote speaker of a new track at the 8th Annual Economic Self-Reliance Conference in March. The new track to the conference entitled "eLeaven" focused on applying technology to raise humanity, and help build economically self-reliant families.

Rollins Center Faculty Coach Receives Prestigious Award

Dr. Lynn McKell, Faculty Coach of the Rollins Center's eBusiness Day Committee was recently honored as Fellow of the Utah Academy of Sciences, Arts & Letters. The Utah Academy is the premier academic organization for the state of Utah and is a member of the National Academy of Science. Dr. McKell has served with the Utah Academy for 15 years taking on leadership roles such as President, President Elect, and Treasurer. In the organization's history the title of Fellow has been awarded to less than a dozen individuals.

LDS General Conference Scriptural Index Launched

This new website sponsored by the Rollins Center for eBusiness is an index that links scriptures in the standard works of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to talks given in the general conferences of the Church. By clicking on a given verse, such as John 3:16, users can see the number of times it has been cited in conference, the sessions when it was cited and who cited it. This invaluable tool has been highlighted in various publications over the past few months including the Church News section of the Deseret News; YNews, BYU's online and printed newsletter; ldslivingonline.com; and the January 2005 Ensign.
