Richard Dance

CEO
1031 Exchange Coordinators

Richard Dance Richard started a CPA career in 1976 working in tax, audit, and consulting at Peat Marwick's Seattle office. He left as the head of the computer research group and was hired on as CFO for Generra Sportswear in 1981 which was growing faster than Microsoft for its first six years and consequently did computer upgrades and conversions about every other year. From Generra, he started his own computer consulting firm in 1986 but disbanded it in 1990 believing there had to be a better way to sell and support software. He then became the COO at JV Associates where he set up and managed their internal computer operations. That lasted until he rejoined KPMG in 1993 to head up their Northwest Regional Selection practice. In 1995, Richard led a group of people to start up what is now a very successful unbiased software selection company called SoftResources LLC. He stepped down in November of 2001 in order to start UPchannels which had a conflicting interest as one of the industries it serves is software vendors. Richard has now started the company 1031 Exchange Coordinators as of late 2005.
