Kevin and Debra Rollins Center for eBusiness

Alumni & Friends - Get Involved!

The Kevin and Debra Rollins Center for eBusiness was created in April 2000 to encourage e-business in teaching, research, and innovation by fostering mutually beneficial relations—locally and globally—between students, faculty, and businesses.

This partnership between students, faculty, and businesses provides a unique value to those who participate. Industries are involved firsthand with leading research and educating students. Students have the opportunity to assist in groundbreaking research and interact with industry leaders. Faculty enrich their research and teaching by tapping into industry.

Get Involved

By contributing to the e-business center you can give back to BYU, become part of a community, network with future business leaders, and be involved in meaningful projects.

You can help the Rollins Center for eBusiness in the following ways:

  • Consulting Class Projects

Allow us to work with you to improve your business. By teaming a faculty member up with a group of students, these projects add value to your company in the same way that a consulting firm would do if you retained them to work with you on an opportunity or a problem. These projects also provide students with a field study/consulting type experience. We typically charge for these projects.

  • Guest Lecturers

We would like to invite you or someone from your organization to be a guest lecture at one of our events. We sponsor a variety of events where we need outstanding speakers on current issues. These include our E-Business Lecture Series, faculty workshops, E-Business Day, and continuing education classes. If you or someone in your organization has a specialty and is willing to make a presentation at one of these or similar events, we would like to utilize your expertise. If interested, please contact us at ebusiness@byu.edu.

  • Endowments

Leave a legacy by donating to or creating an endowment. If you are interested, please contact us at ebusiness@byu.edu.

  • Scholarships

Help fund a student's education by contributing towards a scholarship or creating one of your own. If you are interested, please contact us at ebusiness@byu.edu.

  • Projects

Facilitate research and mentored learning by contributing to a specific project. Depending on the project and donations, many projects will be named after their benefactor. For more information on what projects are currently underway please see our list of current projects. If you are interested in contributing to one of these projects or any other project, please contact us at ebusiness@byu.edu.

  • Coach

The center works on a large variety of projects that need your experience. As a project coach, you'll have the chance to interact with students and also participate in projects beneficial to BYU and the LDS Church. For more information on what projects are currently underway please see our list of current projects. To become involved on a project, please communicate with the contact person listed on the project description.

  • Mentor

"If I would have had an experienced mentor, I could have made several times more money." (Warren Osborne, President and CEO of SeaStone Source). Many students are interested in starting their own businesses, but don't always have the background to be successful. By donating a little of your time, you can make a big difference. If you are interested in becoming a mentor, please contact us as ebusiness@byu.edu.

  • Resources

Over the years the center has benefited greatly from products and services that have been donated by partner companies. By donating technological resources like software or hardware, you can gain exposure for your product or receive feedback on a new product. If you have products or services that can help education and research at the eBusiness Center and are willing to share them with us, we'd like to discuss this with you. Please contact us at ebusiness@byu.edu.

  • Joint Research

Create partnership relationships to do joint research that will lead to the publication of new ideas or concepts in leading journals. Typically, you would work with a faculty member and perhaps a team of students. They might use your company as a case study in some aspect of the research. If you are interested, please contact us at ebusiness@byu.edu.
