Warren Jones is the former President and CEO of Hehr International, Inc.—a national leader in window solutions for vans, motor homes, pickup toppers, and travel trailers. Prior to his career as a businessman Mr. Jones was a successful military pilot. In 1942 he traveled to Santa Ana, California for pre-flight training. After completing his training he became a flight instructor and second Lieutenant in the Army Air Corp. Subsequent to his service in the Army, Mr. Jones applied for a job with Trans World Airlines. Commercial flights were limited at the time, requiring him to get a job working as a spot welder for his cousin, Elmer Hehr. He was later asked to run his cousin’s office. Soon after, the Hehr Company signed a significant contract with a prominent recreation vehicle company which allowed his business to grow rapidly. A short time later the company acquired the mobile home window division from Marvel Industries which eventually led to the formation of Hehr International, Inc. Mr. Jones took control of the company in 1984 and sold it several years later.
While attending high school in Inkom, Idaho he met his future wife, Alice B. Chandler—whose one room school in Buckskin valley had been closed and the students bused to Inkom. Several months before the commencement of World War II the couple knew they wanted to get married. On 22 August 1941 Warren and Alice were married, in Blackfoot, Idaho. No one knew of their marriage at the time. Soon after the attack on Pearl Harbor, Mr. Jones asked Alice's father for her hand in marriage. The couple was later remarried on 21 January 1942. Their original vows were kept a secret until their fiftieth wedding anniversary.
Alice graduated from Henager Business College in Salt Lake City. She was later offered a secretarial/bookkeeping position at Idaho Portland Cement Company. She was the first woman to work for the company. Alice also served in many other leadership capacities: the PTA, the Mutual Improvement Association, early morning seminary, and Camp Crafter programs. She passed away on 10 June 1999 following a battle with cancer.
