eBusiness Day – eGlobal: Connecting Worlds Through Technology
Come learn how the world is being connected through technology at the upcoming eBusiness Day, themed eGlobal: Connecting Worlds Through Technology; this event, held 11 November, is sponsored by the Kevin and Debra Rollins Center for eBusiness.
During the day, several companies will display new tools that help people improve their lives with technology and stay connected around the world. These companies, including Targus, Intel, Dell, Omniture, Blackberry, T-Mobile, Control4, and and others will demonstrate their products in the Tanner Building’s second-floor atrium. Stephen W. Liddle, director of Rollins Center for eBusiness, will also demonstrate various cutting edge wireless gadgets.
The two keynote speakers, Paul Allen and Josh James, will elaborate on how people and organizations around the world are connecting via technology and the Internet.
Allen is a successful entrepreneur, CEO, and marketing executive, plus is teaching the Internet Marketing class for the Marriott School. He is a serial/parallel entrepreneur who seeks to improve the world through business enterprises. Two companies he founded have been listed on the Inc. 500 list of fastest growing privately held companies in the United States: Infobases (1996) and MyFamily.com (2003).
James is the CEO and co-founder of Omniture, a privately held $40 million business that leads the field with its on-demand online marketing services platform. Omniture provides software that analyzes web site traffic to help companies make their web sites more effective. James has extensive experience as an entrepreneur, co-founding and managing three other successful high-tech companies before Omniture.
After James' keynote address, at 1 p.m. in room 251 TNRB is the final judging of the Omniture Web Analytics Competition.
