Microsoft Executive to Speak at BYU

Kevin Johnson, a Microsoft top executive, will speak at the Economic Self-Reliance Conference held 9 & 10 March, at Brigham Young University. The conference is sponsored by the Center for Economic Self-Reliance at the Marriott School of Management and the Kevin and Debra Rollins Center for eBusiness.

Johnson will be the keynote speaker for the eBusiness Center’s eLeaven track of the conference, Friday, 10 March at 11 a.m. in 140 Joseph Smith Building.

Johnson is the co-president of the Platform Products & Services Division of Microsoft Corporations. He is one of the senior executives who serve together with Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer on the Senior Leadership Team that sets overall strategy and direction for Microsoft.

Johnson is a founding member of the board of directors of NPower, a nonprofit organization that seeks to help other nonprofits use technology to expand the reach and impact of their work. He is also a member of the Western Region Board of Advisors of Catalyst, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the advancement of women’s career.

Johnson was raised in New Mexico and received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from New Mexico State University. Johnson joined Microsoft in 1992, where he was the group vice for worldwide sales, marketing and services for ten years.
