Going against a record number of competitors, one student came out on top in the second annual Omniture Web Analytics Competition hosted by the Rollins Center for eBusiness.
Kevin Willeitner, now an alumnus of the Marriott School, from Sandy, Utah, won over judges with his extensive research using Omniture’s software to analyze the Costume Craze web site, a Utah-based online company and an Omniture client.
“The presentations were solid,” says Josh James, CEO of Omniture. “It’s always fun to see students’ enthusiasm for digging into web analytics to find insights. This type of analysis is the future of online business.”
The Christmas gift Nick Barrett gave his father-in-law two years ago has become a gift that will keep on giving—and to more people than the original recipient.
Barrett created a web site to keep tabs on the activities and events of their ever-growing family. The site, now called TheFamilyLetter.com, was an instant yuletide hit. Family members can post photos, write notes, share recipes, and even create a master calendar to avoid missing birthdays and anniversaries.
The Rollins Center for eBusiness welcomed a new staff member to its team at the start of BYU’s Winter 2007 semester.
Jeff Brown replaces Happy Larsen who transferred to the Marriott School Dean’s office.
“We appreciate the service Happy gave to the center the last year and a half,” says Stephen Liddle, director of the Rollins Center for eBusiness. “We’re excited to have Jeff, because of his experience working with students, his energy, and enthusiasm.”
