Competing against a record number of contestants, a team of three MISM students pulled ahead of the crowd in the Winter 2007 Omniture Web Analytics Competition hosted by the Rollins Center for eBusiness.
Jimmy Zimmerman from Sandy, Utah; Ben Robison from Lehi, Utah; and Benjamin Swanson from Stow, New York—all graduating this April—formed the team Webtacular. They won over judges with their extensive research using Omniture’s software to analyze the Costume Craze web site, a Utah-based online company and an Omniture client.
A founding principle of the Rollins Center for eBusiness, research has always been an important part of the center. And as the newest member of the center’s research faculty, Clint Rogers is continuing that tradition.
“The work Clint has done in researching cultural and educational aspects of technology is exciting and forward-thinking,” says Stephen Liddle, director of the Center for eBusiness. “We are excited to be working with him.”
For Brent Dance, the leadership opportunities he had while serving with the RollinsCenter for eBusiness have led to a lifelong love of service. While at the center, Dance held several positions. He worked to organize, create and manage eBusiness Day events. Through his work, he interacted with top professionals from small entrepreneurial and Fortune 100 companies, and learned business professionalism.
“One of my favorite experiences with the center was working alongside more than twenty fellow students to manage a joint eBusiness Day with the Center for Economic Self Reliance,” Dance recalls. “There we meshed altruistic initiatives with technology and welcomed hundreds of professionals and students to participate.”
