A founding principle of the Rollins Center for eBusiness, research has always been an important part of the center. And as the newest member of the center’s research faculty, Clint Rogers is continuing that tradition.
“The work Clint has done in researching cultural and educational aspects of technology is exciting and forward-thinking,” says Stephen Liddle, director of the Center for eBusiness. “We are excited to be working with him.”
Rogers, a visiting research associate, has authored or co-authored five papers during his time at the center. Among his most recent papers, five have been accepted for presentation at national and international conferences. His research has also been accepted for publication by some educational technology journals. One such paper, “Cultural Competence and Instructional Design: Exploration Research into the Delivery of Online Instruction Cross-Culturally,” focused on the challenge businesses face in catering to the learning needs of cultures foreign to their own.
Rogers has shared his research around the world. One paper accepted for publication in the journal Educational Technology Research and Development was also presented at a conference in Estonia. Other papers dealing with topics such as Web 2.0, and e-learning, were accepted and presented in conferences in China. One paper was even presented virtually at a conference in Spain.
Rogers enjoys his position with the center because it encourages research. “The center has such a good atmosphere for research,” he says. “Working on papers and research with other professors, center advisors, and the directors has been a great experience. It’s a good place to be.”
