Zinch recently won $5,000 in prize money in the e-business category of Brigham Young University’s Business Plan Competition, sponsored by the Kevin and Debra Rollins Center for eBusiness.
Co-founded by BYU senior Brad Hagen, Zinch allows high school students to create their own online in-depth profiles targeted to admissions officers in colleges and universities around the nation.
John Richards, managing director of the eBusiness center, believes Zinch was the best overall entry in the competition.
Brigham Young University’s Rollins Center for eBusiness welcomes the expertise of business professionals and their advice on best practices for online ventures.
Ralph Yarro, CEO of ThinkAtomic, Inc., a high-tech venture accelerator, and chairman of the SCO Group, Inc., a provider of software technology, is one of these professionals and has devoted his time and resources to fight the growing problem of pornography on the Internet.
“Pornography has made it far too simple to rip apart families and marriages without accountability,” Yarro says. “I believe those who created the Internet did not fully comprehend how it was going to be used.”
