New Newsletter Editor Joins the Rollins Center for eBusiness
For Jared Preusz, his new position as the newsletter editor for the RollinsCenter for eBusiness is a first step in preparing for his future career.
“I have always wanted to write about business and to interview CEOs of million-dollar companies,” Preusz says. “I am thrilled to work for such an excellent center that will pave the way for the future of business at BYU.”
As a BYU student majoring in communications with a minor in management, Preusz looks forward to his new position at the center.
He hopes to increase the readership of the newsletter through an interactive approach.
“I believe the media today should allow its readers to participate in the news,” Preusz says. “The eBusiness newsletter, Solutions can do this by having readers post their own comments about its articles.”
Besides his current position with the center, Preusz is also a correspondent reporter for the Salt Lake Tribune and a writer for the BYU student newspaper, The Daily Universe. He also serves as the president of the BYU chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists and is a member of the Public Relations Student Society of America. His future plans are to work as a Web editor for a news organization.
Preusz replaces BYU graduate Camilla Hodge, who now works as a writer for PreFab Markets, a small start-up company that specializes in Web sites on medical conditions.
“We truly miss having Camilla around,” says Jeffrey Brown, program manager for the eBusinessCenter. “She was so easy to work with and very proficient in her art. We are, however, very excited about having Jared on our team. The newsletter editor position can be quite demanding at times, but based upon his personality and skill set I expect Jared to thrive in this new position.”
