Agilix Launches New Educational-Minded Social Networking Web Site
With MySpace, YouTube, and Wikipedia, the popularity of social networking has grown to new heights. Now, many businesses are incorporating this innovative approach online to buy, sell, trade, chat, and even educate.
Agilix, a worldwide leader in distributed learning software, in partnership with The Rollins Center for eBusiness is doing just that, educating people around the world with a new and innovative web site, BrainHoney.com.
“BrainHoney is an open door global classroom, with 21st century tools that allow every participant to become a student and a teacher, easily sharing what they know and learning about what they don’t,” says Curt Allen, president and CEO of Agilix, in a press release. “This community is not structured to deliver lectures; it’s built to facilitate rich media discussions, allowing instructional materials to take on a living, growing quality.”
Those who visit BrainHoney.com can create and share learning materials on any topic at a fast pace and engage in rich media discussions in an open and collaborative community format. People can create and share learning content on BrainHoney for free, allowing the social networking site to spread globally.
“The community [on BrainHoney] provides an ideal toolset for teachers to share curriculum with their peers and search for age-appropriate instruction across a wide range of subjects,” says Reachel Bagley, vice president of interactive marketing at Agilix. “At the same time, students can use BrainHoney to discover and create instructional content and watch its impact spread across time, topic, and geography.”
With portions of the web site already up and running, Agilix plans on launching the next iteration of the BrainHoney site on 1 August. In the meantime, teachers and students are already experiencing the benefits of this form of online education and will learn even more as BrainHoney expands to a more high-tech and innovative global classroom.
