Countless e-business journals exist. These industry trade journals are valuable resources for researchers in gathering relevant information from the most current studies. The objective of this project is to create a centralized location where students, faculty, and interested professionals can find links to e-business journals and compare different journals to each other.
This is a short-term project designed to last one semester. The deliverable will be a fully designed web site with links to all active e-business journals.
One student project lead will work with two other students about three hours per week. These three volunteers will meet with Dr. Rayman Meservy to discuss design of the database, fields and attributes to include, sources, and presentation to faculty. The database will be posted on the center's website at some point in April.
This project will have a positive impact on anyone doing research in e-business, as it will simplify online research efforts by bringing all the relevant resources to one location.
The budgeting for this project depends on the availability of volunteers. This project would not be time intensive and would probably demand only a few hours per week. If you are interested in getting involved with this project, please contact Jared Smith at e-research@byu.edu.
Over one hundred e-Business journals were put together into a database. The database has attributes that include major content, contact info, academic or trade publication. The database will be used as a resource for faculty members or students looking for specific publication opportunities. In the future, we hope to develop an e-business journal ranking system that we will implement, with the purpose of becoming a national center for e-business journal rankings.
